Due to our commencing activities in Ghana and people’s concerns about the Ebola outbreak in West Africa we felt compelled to make a statement on how Ghana stands in relation to the Ebola epidemic and how this may affect our companies decisions.
To date there have been no confirmed cases of Ebola in Ghana. The Ebola outbreak has generally been confined to Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia. For details on the affected area please consult the Global Alert and Response page (GAR) from the World Health Organisation (WHO).
Ghana is taking an active stance in the fight against Ebola with Accra hosting the base for the UN Security Councils first ever UN mission for a public health emergency; the United Nations Mission for Ebola Emergency Response (UNMEER).
As the Ebola outbreak has a negligible effect on our region it has not affected our outlook or commencing activities within the region. Ghana remains our preferred hub for our stevia cultivation activities. We will closely monitor the situation until the epidemic has seized.
