Throughout the world there is a heated debate about how ‘bad’ sugar is. Is it a poison or just an empty calorie? The jury is still out, however one thing is clear: most of us can do with less of it! Well, as this picture proves, even the most trivial of choices in life can make a difference in cutting down on ‘unnecessary’ sugar intake.
The left tin, Bonduelle, contains corn, water and salt. The right tin, Hak (along with Bonduelle considered a premium brand in Holland), contains corn, water, sugar, salt, citric acid and vitamin C.
Or am I drawing to conclusions to quickly? Did Hak add sugar for taste and/or preservation reasons, or are they perhaps perhaps more precise in their labeling by listing naturally occurring sugars? Would it affect your purchase decision perhaps? I welcome your thought on this!
